Plus-Plus is so fun! Plus-Plus unboxing

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_1.jpg

Every time I see this kind of toy with simple design but endless creativity, I literally will be in a state of "falling into a black hole" - this means I will buy more, let my child play with them more and seek for a new way to play. The same case with Plus-Plus building blocks, it probably broke my personal limit again. Plus-Plus is really fun!

I also completed the super, super complicated, but terribly powerful Plus-Plus x World Map, it's really fun and taking me so much time to finally finished.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_2.jpg

After playing with Plus-Plus blocks for some time, I am very sure that it is really helpful to my daughter, Pupu, she know the 3D construction concept better now! Now, when constructing objects, she has her own set of logic and steps.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_3.jpg

What is Plus-Plus?

Plus-Plus - a construction toy for hours of creative play

Plus-Plus has a unique design in one shape and 2 sizes that can interlock with other Plus-Plusses that are identical to it. From a single repeated element you can create anything that you can think of, both in 2D and in 3D. It is a perfect educational toy that stimulates fine motor skills, creativity, focus and patience!

Plus-Plus is made in Denmark. The Plus-Plus factory and headquarters uses 100% green energy from wind power and we have a “NO WASTE” production. All products and packaging are 100% recyclable.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_4.jpg

In addition, Plus-Plus received a super high score of 4.9 stars on Amazon. Pass the EU EN71-1, 71-2, 71-3 toy inspection standards. Does not contain plasticizer, so it is safe for children to play.

And because of Plus-Plus I’ve been invited to Xue Xue Institute. Looking forward an opportunity to have my own class in Xue Xue Institute, finger crossed.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_5.jpg

There are 2 kinds of Plus-Plus according to its size, Midi and Mini.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_6.jpg

The proportions in my hand.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_7.jpg

Midi can be played children over 1 year old (parents still need to supervise). Mini are suitable for children over 3 years old (don’t swallow, please supervise your child while playing).

The colors included in each collections.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_8.jpg

There are a total of 9 combinations of Plus-Plus block to block assemble.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_9.jpg

First let me introduce 600 pcs Midi rainbow collection

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_31.jpg

This kind of building blocks the more is the merrier. For my daughter Pupu, I don’t really need to give he any instructions, she already is an expert in building blocks. This time, let us see what Pupu can create with Plus-Plus.

On Saturday morning, Pupu is very considerate while taking care of Dad, she is playing with building blocks quietly, lol, see how her father sleep.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_10.jpg

Midi are very easy to assemble.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_11.jpg

There is a nice feeling when you holding Midi, it is thick but not heavy and not light either, it is hard for me to describe, but when you assemble Midi I feel very therapeutic.

At the beginning, you can accompany your child to combine the 2D images first. The 2D pattern of the butterfly is very suitable for children to learning symmetrical patterns. Parents can do one side first, and then let the children practice the other side. I also took my CD as a scale, see how big the butterfly is, hahaha.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_12.jpg

Combining 2D designs no longer can satisfy me! Here are my creation, not Pupu’s.

From left: Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_13.jpg

I don’t think about what I would like to create from the beginning, but the inspiration is suddenly come into my mind. Although, my Avengers creation is very cute, but Pupu will have no feeling at all, she is more of a princess girl. Then, I try to create princesses, who know I create it until 2 AM.

And, I finally made it!! The 4 princesses. Can you tell who they are?

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_14.jpg

Don’t tell me you can’t tell yah! It is very obvious.

Although the Snow White is wearing culotte, but you can see right? It is Snow White.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_15.jpg

Even a 5 years old girl can tell that she is the “Let it Go”.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_16.jpg

I am super satisfied with Ariel’s tail.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_17.jpg

And~~~They can also exchange their skirts, hahaha!

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_18.jpg
babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_19.jpg

Of course, it’s no problem to create a more masculine designs. Like this excavator, it can really dig. Different angles can be changed between building blocks and building blocks. You can also change the angle of excavator to give them a digging position.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_20.jpg

The carrots!

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_21.jpg

Roaster with duck.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_22.jpg

You can create anything! No matter a boat, a car, a plane, or anything, you can create all…. with your imagination of course.

Midi 20 pcs pastel collection are so dreamy.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_23.jpg

You can create a flower.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_24.jpg

Or a chick with a tree.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_25.jpg

Or a little human, with an addition of a flower it can turn into a little girl.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_26.jpg

Ok, now let me introduce the Mini collections.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_27.jpg

You can create so many designs with the Mini. There are 3 collections of Mini, which is Neon, Pastel, and Rainbow.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_28.jpg

Let us start from what Pupu choose, of course the dreamy Pastel collection. There are so many different colors in each box. What a fun combination! The color of the pastel collection looks really comfortable.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_29.jpg

If you choose the big box, please prepare to not receiving any instruction card. But don’t worry, if you go to Plus-Plus official website, they have a section special for finding inspirations.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_30.jpg

220 pieces of 3 in 1 Pastel collections in very suitable for an entry level, the price is also affordable!

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_32.jpg

3 in 1 means that with this box you can create 3 works. But because it is only 220 pieces, you might need to disassemble after you finish it in order to create the other one.

The whole series of Plus-Plus building blocks are made in Denmark, which I think this is very rare now.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_33.jpg

There are details of each colors quantity, however, is there anybody who really recount them? I am too lazy to do that.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_34.jpg

It comes with a How to Assemble card.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_35.jpg

I formed a track, carriages, cargo compartments, stations, and fences.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_36.jpg

Not long after that Pupu create a glasses.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_37.jpg

Plus-Plus blocks can form a circle or other arcs by changing the angle of the connection between the blocks. For a five-year-old Pupu, there is basically no difficulty in combining and assemble the blocks.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_38.jpg

Plus-Plus texture is not only a plastic texture, it is a plastic but also have an elastic feeling. But since the Mini collection is relatively small, it still need some effort to combine. So I need to take a break after playing with Plus-Plus, not only Pupu enjoyed playing with Plus-Plus, even me the adult is also enjoy it very much.

Let's set up a crown first, follow the step-by-step instruction.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_39.jpg

Slowly adjust a long strip of blocks into a circle and connect them.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_41.jpg

Put the decorations on the crown in order.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_42.jpg

How can there be no scepter with a crown! So I make a scepter immediately, lol.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_43.jpg

And here is my cute Princess Pupu.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_44.jpg

And the King and his Princess, like father like daughter, two people that I love so much.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_45.jpg

Next, horse carriage.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_46.jpg

And I turned them into…….

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_47.jpg

A house! Or more like a gazebo.

babylux.asia_pupumom_plusplus01_48.jpg

This building blocks can be played together with Lego! BAKOBA floating blocks, designs for endless play

Have you ever imagined a kind of building blocks that can strengthen a child's concept of construction, without making any noise, but also can be played in the water, or play it with other big building blocks brand?

BAKOBA floating blocks, designs for endless play!

It is all begin when two designer from Denmark came up with this design idea. He was part-time in the kindergarten, he saw the way children playing with their toys or games. Of course, after many years of research and improvement finally we are able to have today's design.

The name of BAKOBA floating blocks comes from a small white flower called Bacopa. Bacopa has a very amphibious growth, it can not only grow in the soil buBakobat also float on the water, hence the name. So the designer drew inspiration from it and had this amphibious idea. This unique design also allowed BAKOBA to win the 2012 German Red Dot Design Award! The design originated from Denmark, but if you look closely it is Made in Taiwan.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba03_01.jpg

In 2012, when BAKOBA first came out, the design size was 20 times larger than it is now! I know, it is huge! You may can only see that kind of toy in the museum, it is too big to have it at home.

Fortunately, the designer later reduced it to a size that is more suitable for ordinary families. Don't think these building blocks look so small, but in fact they are still big! But it's very easy to hold and safe! So now many kindergartens in Europe use BAKOBA as teaching tools.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba04_01.jpg

Each block has a square joint, which can be joined horizontally or three-dimensionally, making the creativity become infinite; there are also many holes like screw holes, which can be combined with various shapes using strip connectors.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba05_01.jpg

Children can quickly get started with the combination of various edged. Children who are have a slower development can start building a simpler designs, the important things is these inconspicuous little moves and works are good to develop hand-eye coordination and to train their small muscle.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba06_01.jpg

As for these strip connectors, as long as you don't put them in your mouth, there is no danger.

You can hide the connector in the building block with just the right size, and the shape will look even better; but I prefer to expose the connector so that children can see how the structure is connected. With proper guidance, I am confident that every child can gradually create many large-scale works from small works.

BAKOBA's connectors are designed to be very stable. I really feel that children under the age of six need to put an extra energy to build independently. After playing for a month, those joints and connector have not been loosened at all. This quality is so good!

If there are young children at home, it is recommended to give them in stages. First, give them blocks, and you can let them create without worrying about the strip connectors. Don’t let them play with the strip connectors until they grow bigger.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba07_01.jpg

Isn’t it amazing? Although some people think the color is monotonous.

But when I think of BAKOBA, it makes me think of the Viking, with all the red, gray, and white vibes. Plus, it can be embellished with Lego, which is not monotonous at all. Simple base color matching, even if the finished product is abstract, will produce all kinds of fun because of the good-looking color matching.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba08_01.jpg

Because the EVA material is not only washable, it is lighter than the material; even larger pieces of building blocks can also be curved so easily.

Children are always be the first one who want to share works with their parents. Sometimes when they pick up the works and walk around, they lose their focus and drop their creation and all loose... But with Bakoba you can relax, it is not easily loosen and even if child falling they will not get hurt, because Bakoba is soft.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba09_01.jpg

BAKOBA is equipped with a special square Lego connector or adaptor, which can connect Lego to it. If you don't have any special ideas, it is also nice to attach the connector to the transparent Lego as an embellishment. But my kids are not interested in decoration, so we rarely use these as accessories.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba10_01.jpg

That day, because my daughter had not finished class yet, my son is facing the unfamiliar BAKOBA alone, he was very resistant at first. I asked him to pick out all the parts according to the instructions, and then accompany him to read the BAKOBA instructions and follow the steps.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba11_01.jpg

After finishing the first work, a sailboat, I am so proud and offer to help him take picture together with the sailboat. This is my son first creation.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba12_01.jpg

The fact that BAKOBA can go into the water also makes the children excited. It's really an unprecedented experience to have a bath with your proud work. The premise is that the temperature of the water should not exceed 40 degrees to prevent children from being cooked with toys, haha. The biggest worry is that the spacecraft is too big and takes up space in the bathtub, lol.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba13_01.jpg

The most annoying aftermath it to tidy up and to clean! Although below picture is taken from BAKOBA’s official website, but you can really throw BAKOBA into washing machine! Because I am a mother who are in the lazy-mom category, means I don’t really disinfected my children’s toy, don't really care about bacterial breeding problems.

I found that as long as I took BAKOBA out from laundry bag and have them dry out, it actually dried pretty quickly in a ventilated place. No need to take a dry cloth to dry the BAKOBA that has been soaked in water one by one.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba14_01.jpg

I like the moment when children focus on studying the manual in order to complete the work. Because reading the instructions can also cultivate children’s understanding and observation.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba15_01.jpg

In order to find out the size of the circle, parents can teach them to use a ruler to measure and tell them how to see the diameter.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba16_01.jpg

Focus on grouping various parts to place in the perfect positions.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba17_01.jpg

The joy and the feeling proud of completing the work can only be experienced by children who have made their own creation.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba18_01.jpg

From following all the instructions at the beginning until self-creation.

After gradually grasping the assembling foundation, they began to create a castle for their doll.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba19_01.jpg

My boy can't help but make a steering wheel with the round shape BAKOBA.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba21_01.jpg

BAKOBA floating blocks are suitable for multiple people to create together.

Whenever I see animal works, I will not resist asking the children to make one for me. Although there is no step-by-step manual, we just look at it, try it out, and guess how to execute it. In this process, children can learn the spirit of planning, cooperation, problem solving, and mutual help!

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba22_01.jpg

By following the step at building guide on the official website, he create a penguin! Proud mama.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba23_01.jpg

The stegosaurus made by my son, also following the instruction from the website.

babylux.asia_kidsicon_bakoba24_01.jpg

I even took out his favorite picture book to compare.

toybrains.com_kidsicon_bakoba25_01.jpg

Ah, this elephant’s nose is too long, need to think how to make it not mopping the floor.

To summarize the Bakoba floating blocks is the execution is quiet and easy to create. You can play together with Lego, rich and changeable! It's similar to Lasy! From simple to complex, step by step, through Bakova's unique parts, the imagination and creativity of Mercedes-Benz are realized in the works!

If you are located in Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia and if you are interested in carrying Bakoba please drop us a message!

Toy industry's may be thanking to pandemic

Parents pointed to loss of income and uncertain economic climate as two factors that would require them to rethink some of their spending even when stores reopen their doors.  Just another factor certain to affect toy sales this year.

So what steps can toy makers take to head off these challenges?  They must do what they do best: turn to new bells and whistles and think outside the box.

  1. Toy brands should turn to new ways to engage moms and kids which allow them to interact with their toys.

  2. Leveraging influencers to host in-home playdates that allow kids to touch and play with the hottest new toy while moms look on is just one way.

  3. It might also include product demonstrations in driveways and cul-de-sacs, or the seamless integration of social media with platforms that really matter to moms.

Now is the time for toy makers to be as innovative with their marketing as they are with their new products.  With a little creativity and strategic thinking, toy makers have the opportunity to navigate the shift in family toy buying that’s headed their way.

The rising toy category during pandemic

Building blocks

In late April, sales of Legos were up 64% year over year on eBay Australia, and rose as high as 92% one Sunday night. Basic Fun, the maker of Lite-Brite, Lincoln Logs, and K’nex—old-school toys that require users to think creatively and put things together with their bare hands—has also seen sales soar. Chief Executive Jay Foreman told the New York Post that the company had its best first quarter ever this year.
